Philippe Coutinho could be included in Lautaro Martínez deal - report
The Brazilian could return to Inter Milan
Philippe Coutinho could be included in the deal that brings Lautaro Martínez from Inter Milan to Barcelona, according to Italian news. The 27-year-old Brazilian is on loan to Bayern Munich but it’s understood the German club will not use their buy option on him, meaning he will return to Barcelona.
Barcelona want to include at least one, but probably more than one, player in the deal to lower the cash demands Inter are seeking. They also reportedly do not want to keep Coutinho if a good offer comes for him.
Junior Firpo has been frequently mentioned, although other names have been rumored such as Nélson Semedo and Arturo Vidal. Coutinho could be included in addition to or instead of another Barcelona player.
He does have huge wages, and he is coming off a few disappointing seasons. However, he is an incredibly talented player, and perhaps could tempt Inter with a return. It remains to be seen whether the player would be persuaded to return to Inter, the club he played for before joining Liverpool, or whether he values a return to the Premier League above all.
