Aulas says Roma will rival Barcelona for Memphis

The Dutchman is a wanted man

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas reckons that Barcelona will face competition from Serie A side Roma for Memphis Depay.

Aulas spoke about the Dutchman on Sunday amid speculation that the Catalan giants are closing in on a move for the 26-year-old.

“Memphis’ contract is expiring. Koeman wants him at Barcelona, but there is also Roma in for the player.”

Recent reports have suggested Ronald Koeman will make Depay his first signing since taking over and could land him for just €25m.

Lyon boss Rudi Garcia has said he’ll “personally drive” Depay to another club if he “gets a chance to play at a club that can win the Champions League.”
