The Lyon coach is not expecting to land the defender

Lyon boss Rudi Garcia has admitted he really likes Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti but does not think his club will be able to bring him back to the Ligue 1 side.

Umtiti is one of several players who looks to have no future at Barcelona under new manager Ronald Koeman and could be off this summer.

However, his continued injury problems seems to have put off potential buyers, and Garcia was pessimistic about his club re-signing the center-back.

Garcia told Telefoot he “would like” to have Umtiti but “does not believe that it will be possible.”

Umtiti joined Barcelona from Lyon in 2016 and signed a contract extension with the Catalan giants in 2018 that runs until 2023 and has a €500 million buyout clause.
