Nagelsmann: Some Barcelona players will be ‘liberated’ without Messi
Bayern visit the Camp Nou next week in the UCL
Barcelona face off against Bayern Munich on September 14th in one of the biggest Blaugrana matches in some time. The fixture will provide a good measuring stick of how Barca stacks up in Europe.
Julian Nagelsmann, the newly-appointed Bayern boss, had some words about the current Barca squad, including some interesting comments about how Barca players will work to fill the void left by Messi.
“A great player has left, one who put his stamp on the club for years,” he said.
“[Messi] had a lot of influence on and off the pitch, also in the dressing room.
“He also made organisational decisions, which makes me think that there are players who will now be a bit more liberated, filling the position he occupied.
“He is a world class player who knows how to decide matches by himself. Any team is better with Messi than without Messi.”
