Lamine Yamal has sent out a message to fans after Barcelona’s disappointing 2-1 defeat to Monaco in the Champions League on Thursday.
The teenager bagged his first Champions League goal in the defeat to become the second youngest player ever to score in Europe’s premier club competition.
However, it ended up being a tough night for Hansi Flick’s side who suffered their first defeat of the season after losing Eric Garcia to a red card after 11 minutes.
Yet Lamine is still feeling optimistic about the team’s hopes. He wrote on Instagram: “Not the start we wanted, but this is just getting started. To be continued! @fcbarcelona ❤️ ”
Hansi Flick had a similar message after the game, telling his players to take the defeat on the chin and “come back stronger.”
Barcelona have the chance to bounce back on Sunday when they take on Villarreal in La Liga.
