The Catalans are perfect so far

Barcelona have enjoyed a superb start to the campaign under Hansi Flick. The Catalans have won all four La Liga games, bagged 13 goals along the way and sit top of the table in Spain during the international break.

It’s the perfect start to life under a new manager and one that’s happened despite the team being without a host of key stars due to injury such as Gavi, Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen and Frenkie de Jong. Sadly, we can now add Marc Bernal to that list.

Yet Barca’s youngsters have once again come up trumps, Dani Olmo has settled quickly and impressed following his move, while Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal have all enjoyed themselves up front.

Barcelona have also picked up some pretty interesting stats, along the way, so let’s crunch the numbers behind a great start to 2024-25.

Not just the best in Spain

  • Raphinha’s hat-trick against Real Valladolid was his first in all competitions across Europe’s top five leagues, scoring 2+ goals for the second time for Barcelona, having done so in April 2024 against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
  • Yamal has been involved in 14 goals in 42 appearances in LaLiga (6 goals and 8 assists), the most by a player before turning 18 in the competition in the 21st century, surpassing Bojan Krkić (13 - 10 goals and 3 assists).
