Rakitic on Barcelona season and Supercup loss: "We should be proud"
Losing one title is not enough to shake the confidence of Barcelona's star midfielder Ivan Rakitic.
Attending an Adidas event on Tuesday in the Catalan capital, the Croatian talked to the media about the current season of his team, the Spanish Supercup loss to Athletic Bilbao, his expectations for the new season, and how concerned he is with the potential suspension of Gerard Piqué.
Here's a few highlights from his quotes:
"Now it is time to wait for the league to start on Sunday, we are focused and we want that fifth trophy [World Club Cup], but we have to go little by little. We have won four out of five trophies and we should be proud of what we are doing.
"Nobody wanted to win the six trophies more than us, but we were up against a strong side and we have to congratulate Athletic.
"I am worried because Piqué is a very important player for us. A sending off like that, I am sure he did not mean anything he said, it’s just tension. If that is a dismissal then in every game there will be a lot of red cards. I hope there is not a long ban."
