Barcelona dressing room prefers Neymar over Griezmann - report

Lionel Messi has been mentioned as a key figure pushing for Neymar’s return

Several of FC Barcelona’s stars are in favor of the return of Neymar to the club, and opt for him ahead of Antoine Griezmann, according to COPE.

RMC Sport had previously reported that Lionel Messi had asked the board to sign the Brazilian, and given Neymar’s affinity with him and Luis Suárez, there’s a high chance that the South American pair are looking to reform the trio.

However the latest reports in Barcelona and France say the signing of Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain is extremely difficult. For one, there are many within Barça’s board who have not fully forgiven the Brazilian star, with legal battles still open from the time of their messy split. For another, PSG are reportedly unwilling to open up talks for Neymar’s transfer.

Meanwhile, reports say that some midfielders and defenders at Barça are fans of the Frenchman because they think he will work harder in pressing and defense.

It’s unclear at this moment whether Barcelona will definitely make a move for Griezmann, but the opportunity for it seems clearer as compared to the Neymar case. The French forward has already announced he will leave Altético Madrid. and the reported interest in a move to the La Liga champions is there.
