Five Barcelona B stars to join first team for pre-season training
The champions are set to return to work
Barcelona have called up five players from the B team to join up with the first-team’s pre-season preparations which kick off on Sunday.
Goalkeeper Inaki Pena, midfielders Alex Collado, Riqui Puig and Oriol Busquets and Carles Perez will join 14 first-team regulars for the first sessions of the new season.
The players are scheduled to have medical checks on Sunday and then go straight into training on Monday. New signings Frenkie de Jong and Antoine Griezmann should be part of the first training session too.
Barcelona will still be without a number of key players due to their involvement in a variety of international tournaments held over the summer.
Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Arturo Vidal, Arthur and Philippe Coutinho were all involved in the Copa America, Moussa Wague is at AFCON 2019 and youngsters Juan Miranda and Abel Ruiz are with the Spain Under-21 squad.

Ter Stegen, Semedo, Piqué, Rakitic, Sergio, Todibo, Dembélé, Rafinha, Malcom, Lenglet, Alba, Roberto, Aleñá, Umtiti, Iñaki Peña, O. Busquets, Collado, Riqui Puig, Pérez.
Barcelona will train next week and then head off to Japan on Saturday for friendlies against Chelsea and Vissel Kobe.
