How will Barcelona line up against Atletico?
The champions are at the Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday
Barcelona are back in action on Sunday against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in La Liga.
The game sees Antoine Griezmann return to his former side and promises to be a tough test for Ernesto Valverde’s team.
Let’s have a look at who might feature on Sunday.
Defence
Gerard Pique is available again after being suspended for the clash with Borussia Dortmund in midweek and should return to the starting XI.
He will partner either Samuel Umtiti or Clement Lenglet at the back. Umtiti is fighting for a place after returning to fitness but can he play three games in a week?
At full-back Sergi Roberto should continue in place of Nelson Semedo unless Moussa Wague gets the nod, while Junior Firpo looks set to keep his place at left-back.
Midfield
Barcelona will be without Sergio Busquets for this one due to suspension, while Ivan Rakitic will be hoping for another start after being a surprise inclusion against Dortmund.
Arthur wasn’t even in the squad for the midweek Champions League game but should return, while Arturo Vidal has made it clear he wants an important role in the team.
Frenkie de Jong is fit and available and probably one of the first names on the teamsheet these days after Lionel Messi, unlike Carles Alena who is unlikely to be involved at all.
Attack
Ousmane Dembele has been ruled out of action for 10 weeks which should mean Antoine Griezmann will definitely feature against his former team.
Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez should complete the attack, although Carles Perez and Ansu Fati trained with the first team on Friday and may make the squad.
Possible XI: Ter Stegen; Roberto, Pique, Lenglet, Junior; De Jong, Vidal, Arthur; Messi, Suarez, Griezmann.
